On four dates this holiday season of 2008, CCGAP will be presenting items for sale at Christmas markets: November 22nd from 1pm--5pm at Gloria Dei church in Hancock; November 29th from 10am--4pm in the lobby of the Rozsa Center, MTU; December 7th, 11am--4pm in the SDC on the MTU campus; and December 12th, 11am--2pm in the lobby of the Portage Campus of Finlandia University in Hancock.
Monday October 27th, 2008, CCGAP's returned accompanier, Hilly McGahan, will be presenting to the public, sharing her experiences accompanying indigenous people who are resisting the development of a hydroelectric mega-project that will affect their lives and homeland. At the First United Methodist Church in Hancock, potluck at 6pm and presentation at 7pm.
Saturday April 26th, 2008, is CCGAP's annual fund raising dance/raffle/silent auction held at the MTU Forestry Building 7:30-10:30 PM. The UPTOWN SWINGSTERS will be playing for dancing pleasure. Raffle tickets are $5 each at the door, grand prize is a hand woven Guatemalan wool blanket.
On Friday, April 11th, 2008 CCGAP will be hosting a presentation by Jeronimo Osorio Chen who will be arriving straight from the Ixcan region of Guatemala. Jeronimo is a human rights leader who for the past ten years has worked to promote indigenous rights, cooperative economics, and citizen participation in the determination of use of resources. He will speak about people’s struggles to oppose the Xalalá Dam and the importance of avoiding a repeat of the Chixoy tragedy, including the repression, loss of lands, and damage to the ecosystem associated with massive dam projects.

Friday evening December 14th, 2007: CCGAP will present a Guatemalan Christmas Market with jewelry, ornaments, bags, tablecloths, placemats, scarves and ARTE MAYA calendars among other treasures. This will take place in the lobby of the ballroom of the Community Arts Center (where the international folkdancers will be dancing) starting at 7:30pm and going until 9:30pm, in conjunction with the Open House at the Art Center and the Parade of Confections! All items are Fair Trade and will benefit not only the artisans in Guatemala but also CCGAP and NISGUA.
Thursday May 10th, 2007: CCGAP presents Lindsey Engelman. Lindsey served seven months as an accompanier for witnesses in a landmark trial bringing charges of genocide against Guatemalan ex-presidents. She will show pictures and share her experiences with the public following a potluck meal at 5:30pm at the First United Methodist Church in Hancock.
Saturday May 12th, 2007: Annual Raffle and Dance fund-raiser for CCGAP. Music by the MOON DOGS! Raffle tickets for sale at the door for $5.00 apiece; grand prize is a soft handwoven Guatemalan wool blanket, many other prizes offered. Also a silent auction of Guatemalan hand crafts: purses, mirrors, ponchos, rugs, wall hangings, etc. There will be snack food available. Forestry Building on Michigan Tech campus, 7-11pm.
